Alva Rex Moore, 92, of Belpre, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on December 11, 2017. He was born January 11, 1925 in Jackson County, West Virginia, son of the late Willie Bud and Margarette Holleron Moore. Alva proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a machinist with Penn Metal/Keene Corporation. He was a member of Calvary Community Church. Alva loved the outdoors and providing for his family. He is survived by sons, Steve Moore and his wife, Dorothea of Louisville, Kentucky, Randy Moore and his wife, Jennifer of Belpre, Ohio; daughter, Sharon Hanson and her husband, Tim of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina; grandchildren Megan Moore, Amanda Moore and husband, Adam Stivers, Joshua Moore and his wife, Lindsay Sobotka, and Mike Moore and his wife, Jordan; seven great-grandchildren; and his loving companion and pet, Gracie. In addition to his parents Alva was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Rhodes Moore; daughter, Judith Moore; and brother, Harold Moore. Funeral service will be Friday, December 15, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Ken Fullerton presiding. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery in Ravenswood, West Virginia. Visitation will be Thursday, December 14th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
