Allen Russell Collins, 78, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away November 11, 2016, at home with his daughters, April Teel and Allison Daggett. He was born July 28, 1938, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Archie Raymond Collins and Lorena Irene Maddox Collins. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Japan and Korea as well as stateside. He worked for Tebay Dairy and Broughton’s Dairy for 38 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and with family. Allen is survived by four sons, Allen “Russ” Collins Jr. (Kelly) of Parkersburg, Phillip M. Collins (Beth) of Washington, WV, Scott A. Collins (Nikki) of Cairo, WV, and Terry W. Collins (Loni) of Washington, WV; two daughters, April E. Teel of Parkersburg and Allison Daggett (Chris) of Washington, WV; one step-daughter Kara McAtee; three brothers, Archie R. “Tom” Collins Jr. (Doris) Parkersburg, WV, Rocky Collins of North Carolina, and Jim Collins (Lorraine) Star City, NC; one sister, Debra Carder of Point Pleasant, WV; seventeen grandchildren, Chasity, Michael, Tara, Kyla, Steven, Erica, Nicole, Tiffany, Kari Joy, Scotty, Desperado, Chantz, Zach, Taryn, Isaiah, Titus and Halle and nineteen great grandchildren; two ex-wives, Virginia “Jennie” Jenkins Crist and Sherri Shultz-Davis; and nieces and nephews, including Regina Ballard, Susie Collins and Christina Hall who loved him like they did their own father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three step-mothers, Earline E. Hardman Collins, Beulah B. Anderson Collins, and Mary Louise Collins Fairbanks; and two brothers, Rodney D. Collins and Claude D. “Danny” Collins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 2333 Pike St. South Parkersburg with Pastor Brady Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military rites by the American Legion post 15. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home on the Southside of Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
