Lisa Y. Taylor

Lisa Y. Taylor, 71, of Parkersburg, went to her heavenly home June 18, 2025 in Huntington, WV. She was born October 6, 1953 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Weldon and Eugenia S. Spriggs Taylor.

Lisa was a 1971 graduate from Parkersburg High School and went on to study at West Virginia State University. She worked for over 25 years at Hills Department Store and was a retired Pastor having served several churches in the area including Logan Memorial United Methodist Church and most recently St. Paul and Edgelawn United Methodist Church’s in Parkersburg. She was a director of Parkersburg Urban Ministries. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, classic movies, especially Perry Mason, music, and hand dancing. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but most of all enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, LeKesha Taylor (Jason) of Huntington; her son, Tyson Glover of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Tyreke Glover, Ezekiel Glover, Emberlee Taylor, and Elias Taylor; two sisters, Claudia Taylor (Kentrel Mitchell) of Parkersburg and Shelia Victor (Ronald) of Cincinnati; three brothers, Weldon “Timmy” Taylor III (Vicki), Charles “Buddy” Taylor, and William Tyrone Taylor all of Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Karen Taylor.

A Celebration of Life service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Green St., Parkersburg with Rev. Debbie Marshall and Retired local Pastor Jerrie Green officiating. Visitation will be from 2 -4 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
