Alice Marie Frady, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024.
She was born in Parkersburg to the late Carl C. and Bernice George Padgett on July 2, 1934, the fifth of seven children.
Marie grew up in Parkersburg and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1952. It was there that she met Ronald Frady, and they were married in 1957. They were married for 59 years until his death in 2016.
Her faith and her family were always the cornerstone of her life. Marie was a nurturing, loving woman who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was a wonderful mother and great cook who passed on her love of cooking to all three of her children (and several of her grandchildren). Marie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Parkersburg and served there in many capacities.
Marie is survived by her children Julie (Don) Grimm, Michael Frady, and Jill (Eric) Diehl; she was the beloved “Nanny” to six grandsons, Ryan (Stephanie) Copley, Matthew (Crista) Copley, Mark (Tessa) Grimm, Jacob (Sheena) Frady, Ty (Bryan) Leisure and Chase Leisure; and seven great-grandchildren, Cadin, Landin, Gabriella, Adelynn, Jaxon, Noah and Milo; Marie is also survived by her sister, Sally Gainer and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her sisters, Jane Goff, Suda Scroggins and Carol Noblin; her brother, John Padgett; and an infant brother, Carl Padgett, Jr.
Her family is grateful for the care and friendship she received from the staff at Worthington Healthcare over the past several years, and more recently from Amedisys Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor David Carrico officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
